REMINDER TO PET OWNERS

The City of Redfield reminds all pet owners to clean up after all animals inside City limits.  This includes dogs, cats, horses, and other similar animals and applies to streets, sidewalks, boulevards, yards, and City Parks.  According to City of Redfield Code 6.08.53, “No owner, keeper, caretaker, or attendant of an animal shall allow an animal to defecate on public or private property other than his own.  If such animal does defecate upon public or private property , the owner, keeper, caretaker, or attendant must immediately and thoroughly clean the fecal matter from such property.”  (Ord. 02-02)

The Pheasant Capital of the World®

Redfield is the first recorded place in South Dakota to successfully introduce the Chinese Ringneck Pheasant. This lead to the first open season on October 30, 1919.  From Spink County, pheasant hunting grew throughout the state.  Hunters still flock to Redfield to bag their limit.
