City Election and Voter Information

The term of office for the mayor shall be four years.  The term of office for members of the city council shall be four years, one member from each ward of the city shall be elected every two years. Municipal Code 2.01.100

Elections shall be held on the Second Tuesday in April in even numbered years. 

The Redfield Armory located at 309 West 3rd Street is the official polling place for all precincts/wards for Redfield City Elections.

The Redfield Press is the official news paper in which all notices are published.

Absentee Voting

SDCL 12-19 Who can vote absentee:            
* Any registered voter may vote by absentee ballot.  Voters do not need to provide a reason in order to absentee vote.

Absentee Ballots are now available at City Hall.

 

NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL ELECTION
MUNICIPALITY OF REDFIELD

A Municipal Election will be held on April, 12, 2022 in Redfield, South Dakota. If the polls cannot be opened because of bad weather, the election may be postponed one week.

The election polls will be open from seven a.m. to seven p.m. central time on the day of the election.

At the election, the following questions will be voted upon or office will be filled:

                            Ward 2 Council Member        Four-year Term
                                            Martia Siebrecht
                                            Brent Derscheid

 Furthermore, the following are unopposed:

                            Ward 1 Council Member     Four-year Term
                                            Matthew K. Weller

                            Ward 3 Council Member     Four-year Term
                                            Amy Akin

                            Ward 4 Council Member     Four-year Term
                                            Jessi Lewis

The polling place in each precinct of this municipality is as follows: Armory, 309 3rd Street West, Redfield, South Dakota.

Any voter who needs assistance, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may contact the municipal finance officer at 605-472-4550 before the election for information on polling place accessibility for people with disabilities.
