Parks and Recreation Director Open Position

The City of Redfield is currently accepting applications for the position of Parks and Recreation Director.

The position requires a comprehensive knowledge of

park and recreation programs,
the ability to manage and supervise others,
working knowledge of budget administration,
the ability to express oneself orally and in writing,
the ability to plan and direct a program of recreation and park activities and maintenance,
and working knowledge of tree and shrub maintenance.

Desirable experience and training should include a minimum of a B.A. or B.S. degree in Park and Recreation or a similar field or equivalent work experience.

Redfield Carnegie Library

Still providing library service to the citizens of Redfield, the Redfield Carnegie Library has the distinction of being the oldest Carnegie in continuous use as a library in South Dakota. The Redfield Carnegie Library began as a reading club with members buying books to circulate. A $10,000 endowment from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation was awarded in March 1902.
