Celebrating Connection, Momentum, and CommUNITY in Redfield!
18 Apr 2026
Last year brought to life so many unforgettable events sprinkled with community-driven purpose in support of each other, which is a direct reflection of the amazing commUNITY spirit here in Redfield!
“The spirit of Redfield is second to none! Volunteers that step up to assist with our events are truly priceless. We immensely value all of the assistance that we receive from the community; it is the connecting link that makes Redfield special!” said Redfield Area Chamber of Commerce director Kim Leonhardt.
Thanks to all of our partners and supporters who worked tirelessly to ensure that Redfield is a welcoming, vibrant, and special place to live, work, and play!
Thanks for Making Redfield So Rad!
Throughout the year, the Redfield Area Chamber of Commerce thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with our community members as we all worked together to grow our ties even stronger.
We truly cannot do it without the wonderful support of our residents, thoughtful leaders and business owners!
Here are some of our favorite memories from 2025:
- All School Reunion with the world famous pig races and unveiling of the new pheasant wing mural
- Record setting attendance at the C&NW Historic Depot Box Lunch Day serving 175 meals
- Our Annual Member Mixer with its fun spring theme, “Grow With Us,” had over 40 members in attendance
- Hosting our traditional, community events such as the Tailfeather Contest, Rally Rush, Gun Show, Christmas on Main, Parade of Lights, Harvest Fest and Wine Walk
- Proudly participated in the homecoming parade with the 12’ pheasant sculpture decorated in the school colors!
- Hosted numerous ribbon cutting events to celebrate new businesses and new membership
- Hosted a group of hunters from Alaska for the Pheasants Forever Dream Hunt in November. This included video and photographs of the two-day successful hunt
- Welcomed Senate Majority Leader John Thune for lunch and pie at Leo’s Good Food
- Collaborated with civic organizations to conduct flower planting and beautification throughout the community
- Enhancing community communication with the installation of our new digital signs and new flutter flag advertising banners at the C&NW Historic Depot
- Brought the Aberdeen Children's Theater to Redfield with their performance of, “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!”
We are also beyond appreciative of the way our residents support each other. Folks here do a phenomenal job of making Redfield a welcoming and nurturing community for everyone.
The Chamber created “Welcome Bags” to be distributed to new residents in Redfield. Each bag includes swag from area businesses as well as various marketing materials. A huge shout-out to everyone who donated!
Thank you for all that you do, including going above and beyond when it came to the following:
- Coat drive collecting over 150 new/gently used coats in children’s to adult sizes
- Backpack drive, food drive and supply drive for Tri County Good Samaritan Center serving Spink, Faulk and Hand Counties
Redfield: There’s So Much to Rave About!
We were beyond grateful to have a chance to initiate our Raves on Redfield Radio Show on KQKD, too! We use this as a way to promote the “who, what, where” in Redfield in celebrating everything our area has to offer.
Please be sure to tune into our one hour segment held monthly.
The Chamber also focused on personal development and continuing education to further support our wonderful community. This included participating in the following:
- Attended the State of South Dakota Tourism Conference in Pierre with over 800 individuals in the tourism industry
- Successfully completed digital sign software Venus Design software training
- Attended the Glacial Lakes Annual Meeting at the Goss Opera House in Watertown
- Participated in the Annual Literature Swap and distributed over 7,000 brochures, with our new Hunt Redfield rack cards and new C&NW Historic Depot rack cards to communities and welcome centers across the state of South Dakota
“I excel in bringing the commUNITY of Redfield together through work and play! It is an investment in the future of Redfield. I look forward to continuing to team up with businesses and organizing more engaging events that are enjoyed by residents of all ages!” said Leonhardt
