Notice of Public Hearing for the City of Redfield Drinking Water and Sanitary Sewer System Improvements Project - 11/15/18

The City of Redfield is proposing to make improvements to the City’s drinking water and sanitary sewer systems.  Proposed work will include: removing and replacing drinking water distribution lines and replacing and/or relining the sanitary sewer lines throughout the City. The City has submitted an application to USDA Rural Development and has received funding in the amount of $7,286,000 for the drinking water portion of the project, of which forty-five percent or $3,274,000 was awarded as grant. The City also received $13,166,000 for the sewer project, of which thirty-nine percent or $5,186,000 was awarded as grant.  The loan funds will have a term of up to 40 years and a rate of up to 3.125 percent on the drinking water project and a rate of up to 2.375 percent on the sewer project.  The purpose of the public hearing is to discuss the proposed project, the proposed financing, and the effect on water and sewer rates if the City moves forward with the project.  The public is invited to attend and comment on the project.


The public hearing will be held at the Armory at 309 W. 3rd St., Redfield on Thursday, November 15, 2018 @ 7:00 pm.
