Redfield Alerts:

Be Safe This Hunting Season

Monday, September 09, 2019

Hunting is a historic South Dakota tradition. And Redfield features some of the finest ring-neck pheasant hunting in the world.

We want to ensure everyone has a safe and successful hunt. It’s important for new hunters to be educated on firearm safety and basic shooting skills. HuntSAFE courses are for youth age 12 through 15 are available locally.

Students learn about hunting safety, including safe loading, unloading and transporting of weapons. They’re taught first aid and survival skills. The course also emphasizes ethical hunting, including respecting natural resources, other hunters, landowners and non-hunters.

Hunting responsibly and safely helps decrease the chance of accidents and injuries. The Community Memorial Hospital & Redfield Clinic offers excellent care for unforeseen circumstances.
